Te Kōhao o te Ngira (Eye of the Needle)
The Sail is tightly attached to the mast of the waka. At the top fo the mast is Te Kōhoa o te Ngira, the eye of the needle through which all people pass through. Pōtatau likened this to te Atua/Kaihanga.
